Really, really, bad tomato soup!

Maybe getting rid of the Bay leaf might help, but I'm not making this again to try it.

Like you, I have happy memories of this meal, and this is the very recipe that I use these days. I pour it over toasted sourdough and add a couple of slices of crisp bacon and some sliced fresh tomato. DELICIOUS!

Thanks for posting this. They made this recipe on America's Test Kitchen (which doesn't offer its recipes for free, so I found your site). I tried it this week, it is incredible. Though I'm still trying to figure out why the bread crusts needed to be removed, hmmmm.

Mostly, it doesnt set up enough. I know homemade yogurt is not supposed to have that thick consistency of storebought, but this is way way runny. Even trying to strain it didn't work this time. I've also tried different fat contents of milk and tried adding powdered milk. My guess is the problem is with the temperature. I'm going to try my crockpot one more time and then i might just have to spring for a yogurt maker. Our family loves yogurt. GOOD LUCK! I'd love to hear how it turns out!
