Cookies from NayNay

My mother emailed me this cookie recipe a while back, and honestly I just haven’t had time to try it yet. It looks rather complicated – there are so many ingredients!! – but yesterday I managed to make all my dinners for the week so I might be able to eek out a little cookie [...]

A while back, Nicole mentioned You’ve Got Supper, a new email service that sends 5 recipes a week directly to your inbox. What a great concept! I registered last week, and my first batch of recipes arrived on Thursday. I decided to try out the Aloha Chicken on the grill tonight. Not bad. They suggest [...]

I love soups. They are easy to make, comforting without being overly filling, and usually provide great leftovers. This one uses shredded chicken, which I make ahead of time in the crockpot. Just put boneless, skinless breasts in the crockpot, cover with water, and season with a little salt and pepper. I use the chicken [...]

Dinner tonight was a riot. F. decided he would entertain us by doing magic tricks at the table. He would say “OK. Everyone has to look away and I’m going to take a bite of carrot. And then when you look back the carrot will have disappeared!” The kid is soooo enthusiastic, but obviously missing [...]
